- 4 cups sliced apples (about 4–5 medium apples)
- 1 tablespoon lemon juice
- 1 teaspoon cinnamon
- 1 cup rolled oats
- 1/2 cup brown sugar
- 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
- In a large bowl, toss the sliced apples with lemon juice and cinnamon. Spread the apples evenly in a greased 9×13 inch baking dish.
- In another bowl, combine the oats, brown sugar, flour, melted butter, and salt until crumbly.
- Sprinkle the oat mixture evenly over the apples.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 30-35 minutes, or until the apples are tender and the topping is golden brown.
- Serve warm, optionally with ice cream.
Notes
For a variation, you can add nuts or other spices like nutmeg to the topping.
Make sure to use tart apples for the best flavor, such as Granny Smith or Honeycrisp.
