Carne Asada Marinade Recipe

This Carne Asada Marinade will infuse your meat with bold flavors, perfect for grilling. Itโ€™s a quick and easy way to make your carne asada memorable!

Ingredients

โ€“ 1/2 cup soy sauce

โ€“ 1/4 cup olive oil

โ€“ 1/4 cup lime juice

โ€“ 4 cloves garlic, minced

โ€“ 1 tablespoon ground cumin

โ€“ 1 tablespoon chili powder

โ€“ 1 teaspoon black pepper

โ€“ 1 teaspoon salt

โ€“ 1/4 cup fresh cilantro, chopped

โ€“ 2 pounds flank steak or skirt steak

Instructions

  1. In a bowl, whisk together soy sauce, olive oil, lime juice, garlic, cumin, chili powder, black pepper, and salt.
  2. Stir in chopped cilantro.
  3. Place the meat in a resealable plastic bag or shallow dish.
  4. Pour the marinade over the meat and seal the bag or cover the dish.
  5. Marinate in the refrigerator for at least 2 hours, or overnight for best results.
  6. Preheat grill to high heat.
  7. Remove meat from marinade and discard the marinade.
  8. Grill the meat for about 6-8 minutes per side, or until desired doneness.
  9. Let rest for 5 minutes before slicing against the grain.

Notes

For extra flavor, consider adding jalapeรฑo or red pepper flakes to the marinade. This marinade works great for chicken as well! Adjust marinating time based on the thickness of the meat.
