- 3β4 lbs pork shoulder
- 1 cup BBQ sauce (your choice)
- 1 onion, sliced
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tablespoon smoked paprika
- 1 tablespoon brown sugar
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon black pepper
- 1/2 teaspoon cayenne pepper (optional)
- Buns for serving (optional)
Instructions
- Place the sliced onion and minced garlic at the bottom of the crockpot.
- Rub the pork shoulder with smoked paprika, brown sugar, salt, black pepper, and cayenne pepper.
- Place the seasoned pork shoulder on top of the onions and garlic in the crockpot.
- Pour the BBQ sauce over the pork.
- Cover and cook on low for 8-10 hours or on high for 4-6 hours, until the pork is tender and shreds easily.
- Remove the pork from the crockpot and shred it with two forks.
- Return the shredded pork to the crockpot, mix with the sauce, and let it heat through for an additional 10-15 minutes.
- Serve on buns or as desired.

Feel free to adjust the spices and BBQ sauce to your taste.
For extra flavor, consider adding apple cider vinegar or Worcestershire sauce to the sauce mix.
