- – 4 slices of thick bread
- – 2 large eggs
- – 1/2 cup milk
- – 1 tsp vanilla extract
- – 1/2 tsp ground cinnamon
- – 1/4 tsp salt
- – 2 tbsp butter
- – Maple syrup for serving
Instructions
- Cut each slice of bread into three strips.
- In a bowl, whisk together the eggs, milk, vanilla extract, cinnamon, and salt.
- Heat a skillet over medium heat and add 1 tablespoon of butter.
- Dip each strip of bread into the egg mixture, allowing it to soak for a few seconds.
- Place the soaked bread strips onto the skillet and cook until golden brown, about 2-3 minutes on each side.
- Add more butter to the skillet as needed and repeat with remaining bread strips.
- Serve warm with maple syrup or your favorite dipping sauce.
Notes
– For a sweeter twist, add a bit of sugar to the egg mixture.
– You can use any type of bread, but thick bread like brioche or Texas toast works best.
