These delicious French Toast Sticks are perfect for breakfast or a snack! They are crispy on the outside and soft on the inside, with a hint of cinnamon and vanilla. Serve with syrup or your favorite dipping sauce!

Ingredients

  • – 4 slices of thick bread
  • – 2 large eggs
  • – 1/2 cup milk
  • – 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • – 1/2 tsp ground cinnamon
  • – 1/4 tsp salt
  • – 2 tbsp butter
  • – Maple syrup for serving

Instructions

  1. Cut each slice of bread into three strips.
  2. In a bowl, whisk together the eggs, milk, vanilla extract, cinnamon, and salt.
  3. Heat a skillet over medium heat and add 1 tablespoon of butter.
  4. Dip each strip of bread into the egg mixture, allowing it to soak for a few seconds.
  5. Place the soaked bread strips onto the skillet and cook until golden brown, about 2-3 minutes on each side.
  6. Add more butter to the skillet as needed and repeat with remaining bread strips.
  7. Serve warm with maple syrup or your favorite dipping sauce.

Notes

– For a sweeter twist, add a bit of sugar to the egg mixture.

– You can use any type of bread, but thick bread like brioche or Texas toast works best.
