Instructions
- In a large mixing bowl, combine the flour, sourdough starter, warm water, sugar, salt, lemon zest, lemon juice, and baking soda. Mix until a dough forms.
- Knead the dough for 8-10 minutes until smooth and elastic.
- Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover, and let it rise in a warm place for about 4-6 hours, or until doubled in size.
- Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
- Shape the dough into a round loaf and place it on a parchment-lined baking sheet.
- Bake for 30-35 minutes or until golden brown and the internal temperature reaches 200°F (93°C).
- While the bread is baking, prepare the lemon glaze by whisking together powdered sugar and lemon juice until smooth.
- Once the bread is cool, drizzle the glaze over the top and let it set before slicing.
